This is one of two built, handmade tri-cone lap steel resonator guitars. It has immense projection and a lush, rich voice.
This instrument is a joy to the ears, eyes and fingers. It is almost equal parts sculpture and instrument.
The dual backs are recessed into the body so there is no loss of energy when the guitar rests on the leg of the player.
The backs are unbraced and tuned to the overall harmonic of the open strings using rare-earth magnets in pairs; one in, one outside. These have been set in place and don’t require any attention.
It has small ports under the cover plate near the fretboard which aid mid-tone response.
It has bone in the bridge, a 38 gram brass nut, a hand peened brass tailpiece and a red gum fretboard.
The scale length is 635mm/25inches and the overall length is 1metre/39 inches.
The overall weight is approximately 4 kgs. and it comes with a heavy-duty soft case.
